Why Do I Need This Player? (click to expand)
While digital downloads have been a part of the internet landscape for well over a decade now, we at Monroe Products never felt comfortable releasing our products on a single track basis like most other download services. This is because our tracks are mixed with Hemi-Sync® technology, which makes our tracks "context specific", as they serve the dual purpose of both consciousness tool and sonic art.
To clarify, each of the tracks in our multiple track albums follows a progression of binaural beat "suggestions" that are optimized over the time of the album. In laymen's terms, this means our binaural beats change in specific sequences designed to move the listener from one possible state of focus to another, all depending upon the application of a given title.
Our Digital albums have an EP3 file extension. The .ep3 format allows us to deliver titles digitally while at the same time preserving the album structure of the release. Once consumers get the album, they can organize and play it anyway they want to, but the .ep3 format allows MP to control how the product is initially presented and sold to the public, which allows us to keep our integrity in the product as well as moving us forward into the digital age.
Because of the new format, a new media player is required. This is what the Hemi-Sync Rich Media Player powered by Pypeline is for. It is the only player that will handle the .ep3 format, as far as we are aware, at the present moment. Pypeline will also handle all the other major media formats out there, but until the .ep3 format gets widely accepted and adopted by other Media Players, this is the only way to view the titles as we intentionally produced them. If customers don't like the Pypeline Player, they can export the tracks from that player into their own Media Player libraries and portable devices.

What's the difference between EP3s and MP3s? Think of EP3 as 'electronic packaging' for MP3s.
EP3s contain MP3 audio files, but also so much more. We at Monroe Products chose this format for delivery because it places our products in a wonderful context that informs and supports your use of the technology so that you achieve the maximum benefit.
The .ep3 format was chosen because it preserves the integrity of the ALBUM format, where so much of digital download delivery is track-based. This is important for Monroe Products because many of our releases do not properly fit into the standard understanding of tracks, largely because of the Hemi-Sync® effect engineered into out titles.
For example, you might like to listen to track 4 of The Shaman's Heart. But listening to the track, by itself, and not in combination with other tracks of The Shaman's Heart, will not deliver the optimal experience we advertise. Hemi-Sync® needs time to entrain, and sometimes that entrainment follows a series of progressive changes in Hemi-Sync® frequency from track to track. Listening to the tracks individually and randomly, like you might with your favorite music library, just isn't going to deliver the best (or intended) results.
However, we do realize that we are a society on the go, and that some of our customers want their media to travel with them. You can export your albums out of the player as MP3s and import them into the player of your choice.
Not only do our .ep3 albums contain the sound tracks you desire, but they also contain all of the necessary supporting information to help you understand and optimize your Hemi-Sync® experiences. Step-by-step Instructions for Getting Started (click to expand)
1. Start by downloading the free Hemi-Sync Rich Media Player (indicate your preference for Windows or Macintosh)
2. Once you have completed downloading the player to your computer, double-click on the program file and follow the on-screen directions to install it. The player will automatically start up when installation is complete.
Note: On initial startup you will be given the option to first run Media Discovery, which creates a library of rich media albums from all the music you already have on your computer and fills up your Queue. This can be run at anytime, so you can return to this later if you prefer not to run Media Discovery immediately.
3. Click on the Extras tab and switch to the browser view which will display the rich media liner notes.
4. Then click on the Hemi-Sync icon in the player's toolbar.
5. This will open the Hemi-Sync store inside the player.
6. Now you are ready to purchase and experience Hemi-Sync Rich Media albums.
